Medhat Nasr, born in Alexandria in January 1948, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1971 and a Master of Fine Arts. In 1976, he obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy in printed design in 1983. A member of the teaching staff at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria from 1971 to 1988, a founding member of the Alexandria City Beautification Center Association, and founder and head of its graphics unit. He participated in many international exhibitions from 1971 until now and held seventeen private exhibitions in both Egypt and abroad. He won the 12th, 13th, and 22nd Alexandria International Biennial Awards - General Exhibition Awards 1981, 1982, 1984 - First Prize in Engraving. In the Egypt in the Eyes of Artists Competition 1986 - Certificate of Appreciation for the 18th Alexandria International Biennale 1994. He acquired many private collections in Jordan - the United Arab Emirates - Kuwait - Saudi Arabia - Germany - England - Italy - Sweden - Egypt
