Bermalion

Bermalion

Artist-Painter
Memory, as a mirror of human nature, has its exterior form and its hidden inner core. Mystically, the artwork derives its allure from the artist’s awareness and engagement of both, and from his obliviousness of them. That’s why Bermalion’s aesthetic play induces us to leap together into the game of memory. Through colors that course through past and present, we will break with Bermalion the veil of time and makes the past visible in the now. The spectator is invited to cross the canvas’ surface, entering the scene in order to participate in answering the painting’s question. The subject intertwines with the figures that emerge from the color and lines, and with what hides in the details of meaning and metaphor. The figures and fantasies of memories contained in the "Conspicuous" exhibition deserve a close look. Many are manifestations of the world hidden in the corners of memory. Some in particular, especially the faces, provide a rare glimpse into the development of the vision and style of an artist who rarely participates in the art scene. Together they reveal to us a wonderful diversified aesthetic experience characterized by colorful introspection. In “Conspicuous” we see a classic routine of Picasso’s style crossing over to abstract expressionism, as we see in de Kooning's body of artworks. Moreover, in “Conspicuous”, the cubist applications of form in both geometric and soft modes, has reshaped the masculine and feminine appearances, in a composition that reflects a bold perspective of identity. This astonishing combination of aesthetic thinking and the spontaneity that internalizes the artist's self, flowing us smoothly on the surface of the painting and through line, form and color medium, as well as its inner galactic.
